The IRFA would like to invite you to a webinar on 19 April 2023 from 12h00 to 14h00 to discuss the Code for Responsible Investing in South Africa (CRISA). CRISA is a voluntary code that sets out best practices for institutional investors to incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into their investment decision-making processes.

CRISA was first launched in 2011 and was updated in 2022 with new reporting requires effective 1 February 2023.

Implementing the 5 principles of CRISA 2 is intended to be a systematic, iterative process of:

• Principle 2 - demonstrating the acceptance of ownership rights and responsibilities diligently enabling effective stewardship

• Principle 3 - contributing to capacity building and collaboration

• Principle 4 - in an accountable manner through being founded in sound governance practices

• Principle 5 - promoting transparency through meaningful disclosure, towards the attainment of positive outcomes.

The webinar will provide more information about CRISA 2 and how the 5 principles can be integrated into the investment practices of retirement funds.
