The Institute of Retirement Funds Africa (IRFA) is delighted to invite you on insightful first session of our series Retirement Fund Financials - From the Inside Out.

The series will focus on the preparation and understanding of these crucial documents and will commence with the basics, building up to more complex sections as the series progresses.

Attendance at these online sessions is free of charge and we encourage you to nominate a number of your work colleagues to join you in registering early.

We have assembled an experienced group of members from the IRFA Retirement Fund Audit Committee to share their knowledge and answer your questions in the Q&A which will follow each session.

Our Distinguished Speakers:

• Coleen Viljoen, Head of Employee Benefits Administration at Sygnia and a member of the IRFA Retirement Funds Audit Committee. She will be presenting on the role the Fund Administrator plays as well as the composition of the Annual Financial Statements (what makes up these statements) and where do member contributions and claims fit in?

• Dr. Evette Vanrenen-Linford, Principal Executive Officer of University of Johannesburg Pension Fund. Also, a member of the IRFA Retirement Funds Audit Committee. Sections discussed will be those more pertinent to Trustees. She will be presenting on the role Trustees and Principal Officers play.

• Unathi Mkiva founder and Director of Mkiva Accountants & Auditors. He is also a member of the IRFA Retirement Funds Audit Committee. He will be presenting on the role of Auditors and some recent changes in legislation.

• Wilma Mokupo, the Head of Department: Retirement Funds at Financial Sector Conduct Authority. Wilma will provide some insights around financial statements from the FSCA as Regulator.
